SS17 collection is partly inspired by Ann-Sofie’s ongoing obsession with
America. BACK as a brand was built on the concept of self referencing and this time it is the western look from the Ann-Sofie Back AW05 season that served as a starting point.
Double neck openings on car coats and , wife beater turtlenecks and flannel shirts, enlongated waistbands turning into neckties with western style metal endings, cowboy hats worn as collars. Prints have a nostalgic, bleached childhood/holiday/surfer feel to them with tie dye effects, palm trees and a monster flamingos. Pink lame’s leotards and dresses with bikini details, knits and sweats with tube sock inserts, a vegan leather program inspired by pilot jackets in worn red and brown, intricate evening wear with twisted tie cuts and corporate print. There is also a pepita check program with high waisted ski pants, hot pants a car coat and skirt slitted all the way to the waistband, all with a whiff of 50s film nostalgia. Inserts and patchwork effects on varsity sweats and deconstructed jersey pieces.
The problematic colour pink is heavily featured in different shades as well as pepita checks, poison green, petrol, white and electric red.
